TANCREDI: MY WEAPON AGAINST RHE ATOM BOMB IS A BLADE OF GRASS

Tancredi. During her long life dedicated to art Peggy Guggenheim placed under contract only two artists: the American Jackson Pollock and the Italian Tancredi Parmeggiani.
The first one became famous all over the world, was a proponent of the abstract expressionism, and the inventor of the technique of drip painting which characterizes his most important works. Tancredi, instead, is an artist who during his life didn’t manage to stand out as he deserved.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice dedicates to Tancredi Parmeggiani a beautiful exhibition running from November 12th 2016 to March 13th 2017.
I saw this show, and it allowed me to understand the artworks created by this artist I, frankly, didn’t know, but it also gave me the chance to examine in depth a new aspect of the life of Peggy Guggenheim.

THE WORLD THAT WASN’T THERE: PRE-COLUMBIAN ART IN ROVERETO

There are events in history which are able to arouse men, obligating them to think again about their history, and the role each one plays in the world.
One of this event, maybe the most important, is the discovery of the Americas in 1492 by Christopher Columbus which reveals Il mondo che non c’era (The world that wasn’t there), inhabited by people with a thousand-year-old and mysterious culture.

Il mondo che non c’era (The world that wasn’t there) is the title of the exhibition housed in the rooms of the Alberti Poja Palace in Rovereto from October 1st 2016 to January 6th 2017.
An exhibition which is a journey discovering pre-Columbian civilizations who had lived for thousands of years in the lands conquered by force by the Europeans.
This show will complete the tale of these fascinating people and yet mysterious on several counts begun with the visit to the exhibition on the Maya in Verona.

Christmas in Milan. Even this year the Municipality of Milan will give an exhibition consisting of only one masterpiece, but which needs an unlimited time to be admired, as a gift to everybody.
Last year the protagonist of the Milanese Christmas was “the Adoration of the Shepherds” by Rubens, whereas this year the protagonist will be La Madonna della Misericordia (The Virgin of Mercy) by Piero della Francesca, which will be on exhibition from December 6th 2016 to January 8th 2017.

It’s a real gift, not only to the Milanese people, but also to those who will arrive in Milan at Christmas time. In fact you can admire for free La Madonna della Misericordia (The Virgin of Mercy), which is one of the Italian Renaissance masterpieces, and is the first documented work by Piero della Francesca, famous for his study of proportion of forms.
