LUCIENNE BLOCH: INSIDE THE LIFE OF FRIDA KAHLO

The Ono Arte Contemporanea Gallery presents “Lucienne Bloch: dentro la vita di Frida Kahlo” ( Lucienne Bloch: inside the life of Frida Kahlo ), a photographic exhibition illustrating the friendship between Frida and Lucienne.

“I hate you” are the first words Frida said to Lucienne Bloch during the party at the MoMA of New York in 1931, arranged to celebrate Diego Rivera who, at that time would have frescoed seven panels for his solo exhibition at the MoMA, and Rivera and Lucienne seated near all night long, talking mostly about the fresco technique.

Her artistic career is as extraordinary as her life, and she is a symbol for those who think that talent and a strong personality can make the difference, and change the destiny that seems to be already planned.

The Palazzo Braschi Museum in Rome at narrates the story of Artemisia Gentileschi with an exhibition which I’ve already put on the list of the unmissable exhibitions in Rome but which is on view up to May 7^th 2017 to allow you to retrace the life of Artemisia and to admire her works.

Can contemporary art dialogue with all the artistic production of previous centuries?
This is the question that the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia (Venice Civic Museums Foundation) has asked itself, and then it has decided to launch a project which is also a challenge: a series of appointments dedicated to modern and contemporary art held at the Centro Culturale Candiani in Mestre, Venice (the Candiani Cultural Centre), where some artworks belonging to the rich heritage of the city of Venice are on display.
